Council and Committees

Northumberland County Council is comprised of the elected mayors of each of the seven towns, townships and municipalities within its boundaries. The Warden is the head of County Council and is elected each year from amongst Council’s membership.

Correspondence must be received by 4:30 p.m. six business days before the scheduled meeting date and must meet the requirements outlined in the Council Procedural By-law in order to be included on the relevant Standing Committee or Council agenda. Standing committee chairs and members

Northumberland County Council has established six Standing Committees. Standing Committee meetings will be held each month in advance of monthly meetings of County Council. Please note that committee recommendations are not final decisions and that all committee recommendations must go to Council for adoption.
