Council and Committees
Northumberland County Council is comprised of the elected mayors of each of the seven towns, townships and municipalities within its boundaries. The Warden is the head of County Council and is elected each year from amongst Council’s membership.
Correspondence must be received by 4:30 p.m. six business days before the scheduled meeting date and must meet the requirements outlined in the Council Procedural By-law in order to be included on the relevant Standing Committee or Council agenda. Ad Hoc and Advisory Committees of Council agendas and minutes
The Agricultural Advisory committee provides advice and information to County Council on agricultural related matters, to support and facilitate public input to County Council on programs and ideas and to assist in enhancing the quality of life in the community within the principles of the Council’s long term strategic plan.

The Northumberland Accessibility Advisory Committee (NAAC) is a citizen-based committee that provides advice, recommendations and support to County Council and all County departments regarding the development, implementation, maintenance of the County’s Accessibility Plan in accordance with the AODA. The NAAC advise on the identification, removal, and prevention of barriers to people with disabilities when accessing County goods, services and facilities.
