Each year, we identify County roads and bridges that need maintenance. Please see the list or map below for information about paving and construction projects scheduled for the 2025 construction season. What type of work do these projects involve?
- Bridge rehabilitation: Rehabilitation work to the existing structure and approaches to repair existing deficiencies and extend the structure’s functional life.
- Crack sealing: Asphalt preservation that involves sealing existing cracks to improve drivability and extend the life of existing roadway.
- Culvert rehabilitation: Work to rehabilitate existing culverts and repair existing deficiencies to extend the structure’s functional life.
- Intersection improvements: Repairs, replacements and upgrades to correct deficiencies, improve accessibility and/or improve intersection safety.
- Micro-surfacing: Asphalt preservation that involves the installation of a thin paved surface to seal and extend the life of the existing roadway.
- Paving: Asphalt rehabilitation that involves the removal and reinstatement of the asphalt driving surface.
- Retaining wall: Work to rehabilitate and/or replace existing retaining walls and repair existing deficiencies to extend the structure’s functional life.
- Rail crossing improvements: Work to rehabilitate/install rail crossing safety measures.
- Surface treatment: Road pulverization and grading, spreading of emulsion and stone, sweeping and removal of excess material.

Tips for driving in construction zones
Driving safely through construction zones can help protect our loved ones at work on construction sites. Follow these safety tips while driving through a construction zone to keep everyone safe:
- Go slow in the zone – speed limits are often lowered in construction zones to keep workers safe around traffic and keep drivers safe from possible hazards
- Stay alert and proceed with caution
- Pay close attention to work zone flaggers and directional signs and/or devices
- Keep a safe distance behind the car in front of you
- Keep up with the traffic flow
- Do not change lanes in construction zones
- Avoid distracted driving including changing radio stations or using mobile phones
- Keep an eye on workers and their equipment
- Be patient – work zones are necessary to improve our roads and make them safer
